6–7 p.m. – An opportunity to hear from Marilys Belt de Downey, widow of the artist and director of the Juan Downey Foundation, as well as "Juan Downey: The Invisible Architect" curator Valerie Smith.

7–9 p.m. – Season opening reception for the ASU Art Museum’s fall shows: Juan Downey: The Invisible Architect; 100 Museums: Paintings of Buildings That Have Paintings Inside; Securing a free state: The Second Amendment Project; and, at the Ceramics Research Center, Dulce: Bisque Without Borders, featuring Tienda Franco, a performance/market/party by artist Franco Mondini-Ruiz (pictured here), which will also run Sat., Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
