Join the School of Music in welcoming the Brentano String Quartet for its second of three concerts this 2011-2012 season. Violinists Mark Steinberg and Serena Canin, violist Misha Amory and cellist Nina Lee perform Debussy's Quartet, Bartok's Quartet No. 1, and Shostakovich's Piano Quintet in G Minor, Op. 57 with Kwang-Wu Kim, pianist and dean and director of the Herberger Institute.
Since its inception in 1992, the Brentano String Quartet has appeared throughout the world to popular and critical acclaim.

Bach's final Contrapunctus from Art of Fugue, Busoni's String Quartet No. 2, and Beethoven's Op. 130 with Grosse Fuge.
The quartert opened the season Oct. 28, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. in Katzin Concert Hall performing
Beethoven's Op. 135 and Op. 132.
