Organized by ASU English Associate Professor Peter Goggin, the Western States Rhetoric and Literacy Conference was created to allow scholars in the Western region to come together and exchange current research in rhetoric and literacy studies. The 2009 conference theme is "Writing Social Justice" and will explore such topics as Writing and Community Building; Language and Equality; Activist Rhetorics; Identity Politics; Insider/Outsider Perspectives; and Pedagogies of Inclusion.
