Refugee resettlement in the United States operates under a public private partnership, and there is a great deal to understand about how this partnership works to support refugees. This interactive session will provide a basic overview of some of the major support systems for refugees, beginning with pre-arrival planning in the United States, and will answer many of the common questions about the associated processes, programs and funding streams. The presentation will help participants better understand “who does what” in local refugee resettlement and associated guidelines and approaches for major refugee support systems, such as Reception and Placement Services, the Matching Grant Program, Refugee Cash and Medical Assistance, and some of the longer-term refugee resettlement services.
