Bachelor of Fine Arts candidate in metals, Alyssa Ollive, in conjunction with Barrett, The Honors College, presents her honors thesis project, Fabled Beauty. Through accessories, costumes, jewelry and sculptural pieces in metals, fibers and other media, Ollive invokes the darker side of beauty. Using corrupted fairytale and fantasy imagery, she discusses obsession with physical beauty and fashion. The works displayed will relate to the human body, showing it in a way that is beautiful and repulsive and through pieces that ensnare the wearer, creating objects that are more an extension of the body than a simple accessory.
