ASU First-Gen Zone

diverse first-generation college students

First-Gen Zone is aimed at informing, empowering and mobilizing ASU faculty and staff regarding the unique experiences of first-generation college students. First-generation students comprise over 35% of the ASU undergraduate and graduate student body and are one of the fastest growing demographics in the nation.

The training will offer research-based information, tangible tips, and actionable steps, with a vision to spark additional dialogue and support for first-generation students at ASU.

Lindsay Romasanta, first-generation student, Pinay scholar-practitioner and Sun Devil alumni, will be giving the keynote presentation at 9 a.m. Romasanta currently serves as director of Student Success Programs at University of California San Diego.

Limited spots are available. Registration opens Monday, June 3.
