COMPASS: Dementia 101

This class reviews the basics of dementia from the various types to progression and treatments available. Also, caregivers will learn essential strategies to avoid many of the unwanted behaviors that arise because of the demands of the illness.  

Angela M. Allen, a certified rehabilitation registered nurse, earned her PhD from Arizona State University College of Nursing and Healthcare Innovation. She was appointed to serve as a research nurse at Banner Alzheimer Institute, focusing on world-class basic and translational research, clinical care, prevention and education. Allen is the clinical research program director of nursing research. She has done work for Banner Health and ASU for more than 10 years and currently serves in numerous capacities, including ASU John A. Hartford Fellow and a Banner Health co-investigator, a research intervention study titled: Dementia Care Initiative.
