The ASU Composition Conference seeks to gather teachers, writers and scholars of writing from Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, the University of Arizona and the Maricopa Community Colleges to explore the intersections between reading, writing and communities. Not only does writing instruction foster student success in academic and professional settings, but it also encourages engagement in communities beyond the university, today and tomorrow.

This conference asks its presenters to interrogate the intersections between reading, writing and communities, thus helping students of writing to grow more confident, critical and flexible as writers. Specifically, the conference invites conversations about how readings are incorporated into the writing classroom, how those readings bolster student writing and support course outcomes and how reading and writing can forge relationships between classrooms and communities.
