2017 Fall Eyring Lecture Series General Lecture

The School of Molecular Sciences Fall 2017 Eyring Lecturer is F. G. Keyes, professor of chemistry at M.I.T. and Nobel laureate, Richard Royce Schrock.

 In 2005, Schrock received the Nobel Prize in chemistry, with Robert H. Grubbs and Yves Chauvin, for his work in the area of olefin metathesis, an organic synthesis technique.

Schrock will be delivering two lectures: the first is a general lecture on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m. titled "A Discovery and a Nobel Prize 30 Years Later;" the second is a technical presentation on Friday, Oct. 20 at 3:40 p.m. titled "Recent Advances in Olefin Metathesis by Molybdenum and Tungsten Catalysts."
