26th Annual Undergraduate Research Poster Symposium

Megan Thielges

The School of Life Sciences, in conjunction with the SOLUR Undergraduate Research Program, presents its 26th annual Undergraduate Research Symposium.

The symposium provides a chance for undergraduate researchers to present what they've learned through their research experiences. Faculty, staff, students and the general public are welcome to attend.

2–3 p.m. Keynote Address | Megan Thielges, Indiana University-Bloomington

The symposium's keynote speech will be given by Megan Thielges, an Arizona State University alumna and former Beckman Scholar who participated in undergraduate research during her time at ASU. Thielges went on to complete a PhD at the Scripps Research Institute and postdoctoral work at Stanford. She is currently an associate professor at Indiana University Bloomington.

In a talk titled "Trek of a Biophysicist," Thielges will share her story of progress from an undergraduate at ASU to an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry. She will describe her personal development in science while sharing a broader perspective gained along the way.

3–5 p.m. Poster Presentations

The poster session features 70 student presenters. Cutting edge research from Arizona State University's many life science labs will be shared. From conservation, ecology, Biochemistry and molecular biology, to genetics, neurology, global health and more, the 26th annual Undergraduate Research Symposium is sure to have something for everyone.

The symposium is funded by the School of Life Sciences Undergraduate Research (SOLUR) Program and the School of Life Sciences.
