3D Astronomy Shows at Marston Exploration Theater

3D Astronomy Shows at Marston Exploration Theater

Show details

The Marston Exploration Theater is located on the Arizona State University Tempe campus in the Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Building IV. The theater employs Definiti SkySkan Planetarium technology utilizing 4K projection systems that render Earth and space science themes in 3D stereographic vision.

The Marston Exploration Theater features five different 3D astronomy shows of topical interest. All presentations are produced live and run approximately 60 minutes:

"To the Edge of the Universe and Everything in Between"
A live, narrated journey in 3D from Earth out to the farthest we can go to the edge of the universe, exploring the latest developments in space exploration.

"The Search: Exploring Unknown Worlds"
Live and in 3D, this show features a journey through the discoveries and current research of exoplanets, worlds beyond our solar system.

"The Secret Life of Stars"
Explore the birth, life and death of stars. Get answers to your questions about where stars come from, how they form, and what happens when they die, featuring spectacular simulated images of supernova explosions in 3D.

"The Moon Revealed"
Learn about the moon from the perspective of history, the exploratory missions and our own culture, including the latest research to discover the secrets of our nearest celestial neighbor, live and in 3D.

"Gathering Light: 25 Years of Discovery from the Hubble Space Telescope"
Live and in 3D, explore the mysterious and beautiful deep space images from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope and explore how researchers use light from distant objects to unlock the secrets of the universe.
