Akhmatova and Stalin (Lecture in Russian)

Nonna Tarkhova, Российский государственный военный архив (Russian State Military Archive, retired), presents her talk “Akhmatova and Stalin.”

Nonna Tarkhova received her doktor nauk degree in Russia with a dissertation on the Red Army and collectivization. She served in the Russian State Military Archive for over 35 years, primarily in the document publication department, finishing her career there as the head of the department. Tarkhova also served several years in the Russian State Social Sciences University as a professor in the Department of Human Resource Management. Her monographs, both in Russian, are a co-authored volume and include "The Omsk Offensive of the Red Army in 1919" (Omsk, 1989) and "The Red Army and Stalinist Collectivization 1928-1933" (Russian Political Encyclopedia, series on the history of Stalinism, 2010).

The event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Arizona State University Melikian Center and the ASU School of International Letters and Cultures.
