Amalgamation

AMALGAMATION, BFA Exhibition

“Amalgamation,” meaning a union out of diverse parts, is the capstone exhibit for five graduating artists. Bringing together works in ceramics, intermedia, sculpture and print, their intent is to create a unique exhibition highlighting their different interests and perspectives, celebrating a rich variety of artistic media and meanings.

Hanley Ange creates works in fiber, ceramic and video. John Bedard combines painting and photography into sculptural works. Monica Jasso-Selles creates sculptural pieces with a focus on ceramics, wood and textiles. Charles Rothgeb creates functional ceramicware inspired by historical Japanese works. Cheryl Smart uses etched natural patterns, photogravure and digital drawing to create prints. Andres Varela uses both two and three-dimensional techniques to create a visual almanac of ideas.

Opening Reception: Tuesday, Nov. 30, 5—7 p.m.

Entrance on 9th Street (south side of Mirabella building). Paid parking is available in Lot 20 and the 10th Street Parking Structure.
