Arizona Biosecurity Workshop

Biosafety

This two-day workshop focuses on engagement with biosecurity concerns in an applied and practical manner. Currently, a knowledge gap between experts discussing policy implications and the professionals in the labs trying to manage biosecurity risks is a cause of injuries and security threats. This workshop allows participants to collaborate on biosecurity issues.

Day one presentations cover the importance and research opportunities that stem from biosecurity. Day two presentations discuss the perspective and governance of biosecurity.

Center for Disease Control, FBI Special Agents, the National Institutes of Health and subject matter experts will present.

Those interested in biosecurity, or involved in research with biological materials, are encouraged to attend.

The workshop is held in the Tempe campus Memorial Union, Arizona Ballroom, room 221. Download the agenda to view the room for each day. The workshop is free to attend and lunch is provided. Attendees may receive up to two continuing education points for the entire workshop.

This event participates in the ASU Sustainability Certification Program and Zero Waste staff will be present.
