'An Arizona Road Trip': A Photography Exhibition

Photography Exhibit

From Monument Valley to Tucson and everywhere in between, the photography of Joanna Proffitt will take you on a visual journey of the many wonders the state of Arizona has to offer. Proffitt's work is on exhibit at the Vault Gallery in the Downtown Phoenix campus Library through Dec. 8.

"My work is often inspired by nature and travel, and offers a glimpse into my life in the Southwest," Proffitt writes. "Afflicted with wanderlust, I do believe that travel changes you, often for the better, and therefore I take to the road whenever possible. Nature's bounty and beauty continually amazes me, and I attempt to memorialize these sights in my photographs."

Proffitt is a photographer and artist from Arizona. Born in Chicago, she moved to the Southwest in her early childhood and grew up in Glendale, Arizona. She earned a bachelor's degree from Arizona State University and studied photography at Glendale Community College. Her work has been exhibited widely throughout the state, including in galleries such as Shemer Art Center, Art Intersection and West Valley Art Museum. It has also been seen in publications such as Phoenix Magazine and Images Arizona.
