Arrested! The Journey of a Federal Criminal Court Case

Think you know what really happens when someone is arrested and charged with a federal crime? You may be surprised to learn all the different people involved in seeing a case through the federal criminal court system.

Sponsored by the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice and the Arizona State Criminal Law Association, this interactive event will walk you through a real-life federal court case. You'll hear from the federal agent who makes the arrest; the attorneys who prosecute and defend the case; the pretrial services officer responsible for supervision prior to sentencing; the federal probation officer who prepares the presentence report; the federal judge who hears the case; the Bureau of Prisons official responsible for incarceration and the federal probation officer who supervises release. The event includes audience Q&A.
