The ASU Book Group's March 2021 reading selection is "There's No Crying in Newsrooms: What Women Have Learned About What It Takes to Lead" by Kristin Grady Gilger and Julia Wallace. The book group is open to all in the ASU community and meets monthly from noon–1 p.m. on Zoom during fall semester 2020. The spring 2021 meeting locations are TBD. Haven't read the book? Come anyway! Authors are always present.
This book tells the stories of remarkable women who have broken through barrier after barrier at media organizations around the country since the 1970s — and describes the challenges women still face as they navigate their way to the top.
The book is available on amazon.com.
Kristin Grady Gilger is interim dean and a professor of practice and Julia Wallace is the Frank Russell Chair Professor of Practice, both in ASU's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
