The internationally acclaimed ASU Jazz Studies Program presents the latest edition of the ASU Concert Jazz Band in an evening of choice selections spanning the history of big band music and beyond. The ASU Concert Jazz Band has been a favorite among audiences in the Valley for years and has recently appeared with such jazz luminaries as Wycliffe Gordon, Bob Mintzer, Bobby Shew, and singer Cyrille Aimée.

Holly Pyle: The arresting purity of Holly Pyle’s voice captures listeners immediately, but her most striking quality is her intrinsic appreciation of, and seamless blending with, her musical environment. Holly’s inspiration lies inside the music she performs: a true artist who uses the colors of her voice to paint the hues of her life into her music; revealing her unaffected, unassuming, and utterly mesmerizing self.

Joel Frahm: A regular on the New York City club circuit, Joel Frahm has appeared alongside musicians such as Brad Mehldau, Bill Charlap and Matt Wilson and has recorded with Diane Schuur, Kurt Elling, Jane Monheit and other top jazz artists. Fans know him for his big tenor sound -- fluid, inventive and filled with passion. Downbeat Magazine's critics' poll has named him a rising star.  "...a post-bop tenor saxophonist with a deft and assertive command." -- The New York Times
