Bio Arts in Finland

Finland Bio Arts

Opening event for this exhibition is at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12.

Presented by ASU's New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, this exhibition features the collaborative work of five teams of ASU science and art students during their 2018 summer course at the Kilpisjärvi Biological Research Station in the North of Finland: “Bio Arts: Sonoran and Arctic Environments.” The study abroad course brought together the New College School of Humanities, Arts and Cultural Studies and School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences to train students across the disciplines in art and science.

The students presenting are Manny Alvarez, Brooke Crockett, Christina Crow-Roberts, Tiffany Gibbs, Stephanie Gonzalez, Ezra Hawkins, Georgina Kennedy, Diego Lopez, Andrew Mork, Guillermo Ortiz and Kylie Weinzierl.

This program is supported by the National Science Foundation and was led by ASU West Professors Becky Ball and Richard Lerman, along with Dr. Antero Jarvinen, director of the research station, operated by the University of Helsinki.
