A Celebration of Jefferson Eugene Grigsby, Jr.
Please join Arizona State University (ASU) Library in a talk to celebrate the life and legacy of Jefferson Eugene Grigsby, Jr. (b.1918–2013) and the release of his archival papers now available at ASU Library. Grigsby was a prominent and celebrated Black artist and scholar who taught at the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, School of Art at ASU from 1966 until 1988.
We will be celebrating Grigsby’s life and legacy by hearing from his friend and colleague at the School of Art, faculty member Bernard Young, and from one of Grigsby’s sons Marshall Grigsby. Join us for a lively conversation about Jefferson Eugene Grigsby, Jr., from the people who knew him the best.
