Color • Object • Form

Exhibition runs from March 20th-24th.

Color •Object •Form is Solo MFA thesis exhibition by artist Priya Thoresen.

Priya designs contemporary ceramic vessels based on the colors, shapes, and proportions of everyday objects found at thrift stores. These forms are a hybrid of functional ceramics and sculpture. Potentially useful in their designs, these forms are visually engaging and reference adobe and split level architecture. Made with hand forming techniques rather than a sleek design aesthetic, the work takes on a sculptural quality. Color •Object •Form will be on view March 20-24th at the ASU Harry Wood Gallery with an opening reception March 21st from 6-8 pm. Priya is a recipient of the ASU School of Art Special Talent Scholarship and was recently juried into the contemporary artist network Art Axis.
