Join The Design School at ASU for our free lecture series featuring lead designers and design thinkers from around the world!

Our featured lecturer for January is designer Mia Scharphie of design consultancy Creative Agency. Scharphie combines her multifaceted design skills to focus on the intersection of design, social impact and entrepreneurship.

About the 2018–19 Lecture Series

This year's theme will focus on "Experimentation." Lecturers will discuss how they are pushing boundaries in their field as well as share compelling examples of experimentation within their profession and the design world.

About Mia Scharphie

Mia Scharphie is a designer, doer and big-picture thinker. She runs Creative Agency, a design consultancy whose past clients have included Friends of the High Line and Enterprise Community Partners. She also founded Build Yourself, a career coaching and empowerment company serving women in creative fields. Scharphie co-founded Proactive Practices, which researches business models of social impact design and was named a 40 Under 40 by Impact Design Hub. She holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design as well as a Bachelor of Arts in urban studies from Brown University, and she likes to take an annual Rust Belt road trip.
