Don't Lose Heart, Learn to Restart

While CALL-PUSH-SHOCK may not be the most romantic of phrases uttered during Valentine’s weekend, those three little words could save a loved one’s life. When a person has a heart attack, by taking these three immediate actions you can increase their chance of survival: call 911, start CPR and use an AED.

Sudden cardiac arrest can strike even a seemingly healthy person and at any age.

A free event to teach CALL-PUSH-SHOCK to the public will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Sun Devil Stadium, San Tan Ford Room, 500 E. Veterans Way, Tempe.  Check-in begins at 10:00 a.m.

To secure a place, please register for the event. Walk-ins are welcome if space is available.

In recognition of February as American Heart Month, come with your loved ones to learn the basics of compression (hands-only) cardiopulmonary resuscitation and how to use an automated external defibrillator from the Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Department and the Arizona State University Fire Marshal’s Office.

The national CALL-PUSH-SHOCK movement has a mission to motivate bystander CPR / AED action; taking immediate lifesaving actions can triple a victim’s chance of survival.

Free parking is available at the north parking lot of Sun Devil Stadium. The stadium’s north entrance has stairs and elevators and the south entrance has stairs to access the event location.
