Editing Open Street Map with JOSM

Join the grassroots PHXGeo mapping community at the ASU Library Map and Geospatial Hub for an Open Street Map (OSM) editing session using the Java Open Street Map (JOSM) map data editing software.

OSM is a crowdsourced geographic database open to everybody. JOSM is a specialized application that allows for more efficient editing of OSM data.

This special workshop session will be led by an Open Street Map "Super Mapper" who goes by the OSM handle "Dr. Kludge". Dr. Kludge has made thousands of edits to Open Street Map, most of which contributed to improving metro Phoenix's representation on the map.

Dr. Kludge will be guiding workshop participants on how to use JOSM to more effectively make edits to the ever-growing Open Street Map database.

This event, sponsored by PHXGeo, is free and open to the public. To learn more about PHXGeo, please visit their Meetup page.
