Emergence of Self

Nonbinary gender can be an elusive concept. From identification and restrooms to honorifics and pronouns, there are often only two common options: male or female. Our society is built on a binary gender system from the foundation — but there are more options outside of male and female. In this exhibition, Hailey Tang deconstructs their experience as a nonbinary person through painting, writing, bookform, web design and photo.
