Carol Panaro-Smith, who juried the ASU Student Photographers Association Annual Members Exhibition "Everything is Connected," will give a public presentation about her art. Panaro-Smith, who earned her MFA at Arizona State University, has contributed to the Phoenix arts community as an educator and administrator for over 30 years; as a founding faculty member of Metro Arts, a program director of Art Intersection, and an owner of Alchemy Studio, a working teaching art studio she runs with her partner, James Hajicek. Presently, she is teaching and hosting workshops in Arizona and Italy. Her work, along with collaborative work with Hajicek, has been internationally recognized and collected and can be viewed at alchemy-studio.net

Northlight Gallery curator Liz Allen says, “Her bio states that Carol’s area of specialization is alternative photographic processes, mixed media, and book arts, but truly, it is in mentoring others and guiding them to a deeper expression of their own creative practice. Carol Panaro-Smith is a teacher in the most soul-inspiring sense of the word.”

Join the members of the ASU Photographers Association as they host the juror’s lecture by Carol Panaro-Smith at Northlight Gallery located in downtown Phoenix at Grant Street Studios. The gallery will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. The presentation will begin at 6:30.
