Evolutionary Foundations of Human Uniqueness

Join the Institute of Human Origins for quick-paced and engaging research updates on projected funded under a three-year, $4.9 million grant from the John Templeton Foundation.

The projects range from studies of the first use of tools by early hominins to the emergence of large-scale cooperation in modern human societies to "Ask An Anthropologist," an offshoot of ASU's successful K–21 website, AskABioloigst.asu.edu.

Under the thematic umbrella of the "Evolutionary Foundations of Human Uniqueness," the grant supports research directed by 10 faculty affiliated with the School of Human Evolution and Social Change and includes more than 50 internal and external collaborators, postdoctoral scholars, and ASU graduate students inolved in field work and analytical research in Africa, Europe, South America, Oceania, and the United States.
