Faculty Lecture Series Featuring Mary Neubauer
Working at the art and science intersection, Mary Neubauer has shown her sculpture and digital images internationally. Her works are in many private and public art collections. She regularly exhibits with Ars Mathematica, TeleSculpture, the Women's Environmental Artist's Directory and Art-Science Collaborations. She was a visiting artist at the American Academy in Rome, a Fulbright Fellow (Cambridge, United Kingdom) and a Ford Fellow. Recent projects include Garfagnana Innovazione (robotic carving) from 2013 to present, the Arctic Circle Expeditionary Residency, the Anderson Ranch Center for the Arts, the Tyrone Guthrie Center, Ireland, the John Michael Kohler Arts and Industry Iron Foundry Residency, and the Serde Iron Residency in Latvia. In collaboration with media artist Todd Ingalls, she has developed a series of interactive sculptural works. She is a President's Professor in sculpture and head of the FEF-accredited Art Foundry at ASU's Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. She has long been involved in the foundry and cast iron communities and has served in leadership roles, panels and steering committees for the International Cast Iron Art Conferences for close to 20 years. She sponsors the annual Desert Iron Symposia and Arizona State University and collaborates with Scottsdale Community College on their yearly Koji Iron Pours.
