Fall Faculty Lecture Series: Dan Collins

The Art Grads (TAG) is a student organization representing the graduate art students in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. This fall, TAG will be hosting the 2018 Faculty Lecture Series with Dan Collins starting off this Thursday! These opportunities to engage with professors in the School of Art and learn more about their research and artistic practices include a 45-minute lecture and Q&A session to follow. Through this series, TAG hopes to encourage cross-discipline relationships and collaboration as well as bridge the gap between undergraduates, graduates and professors. The Faculty Lecture Series is free and open to the public.

This lecture will feature School of Art Professor of Intermedia Dan Collins.Collins will talk about how he draws a range of interdisciplinary approaches to art theory and production, including site-specific sculpture, performance, 3D visualization, rapid prototyping and GIS mapping. His recent work focuses on novel 3D scanning systems, 3D printing, interactive media and community mapping.
