IHR Humanities Forum: 'Talking Humanities with Jeffrey Cohen'

IHR Humanities Forum

The Insititute for Humanities Research's Humanities Forum invites discussion of the challenges and opportunties we face in the humanities right now. It is a place to share ideas and brainstorm how to advance the humanities at Arizona State University and in the community.

Dean Jeffrey Cohen will be the speaker for the first Humanities Forum meeting of the academic year. Jeffrey Cohen is the dean of humanities in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at ASU. He comes to ASU from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where he served as a professor and chair of the department of English.

At ASU, Professor Cohen is laying the groundwork for projects that intensify the university’s strengths in the environmental humanities; increase opportunities for the work of humanities scholars to reach wider publics; and ensure the next generation of scholars, teachers and researchers (especially in traditional fields) is the most diverse to date.

Though food will be provided, please keep in mind that the Institute for Humanities Research is a peanut-free space.

Location and parking

This event will be hosted in Ross-Blakley Hall at ASU's Tempe campus. The closest parking options are the visitor parking in Lot 44 and the Rural Road parking structure.
