From Jazz to the Social Sciences and Back Again

jazz trumpeter illustration

How do we connect jazz to the social sciences? How do we connect jazz, astrophysics and applied biology to the social sciences, and, thus, encourage the expansion of our studies in the social sciences? And then how do we connect the social sciences back again to music, allowing us to expand our studies of music? It requires some imagination and a complex multidisciplinary analogy.

Come see how Cynthia Hawkinson, instructor in the Faculty of Social Science, College of Integrative Sciences and Arts, connects these multidisciplinary dots in this session, part of the Social Science Colloquium series at ASU Polytechnic campus.
