The Last Five Years presented by Music Theatre and Opera Student Organization

The Last Five Years

An emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years, the show's unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backward while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically. The two characters only meet once — at their wedding in the middle of the show. Our production of “The Last Five Years” will explore what this relationship looks like in different forms, hopefully offering a more representative view of the relationships we experience every day.

Written and composed by Jason Robert Brown; stage direction by Jonice Bernard ('22); music direction by Kevin White (‘22).

This performance may not be suitable for young audiences due to strong language and sexual content.

“The Last Five Years” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com
