Last View: Photographs by Taylor James

Taylor James

Northlight Gallery hosts the thesis exhibition of Taylor James whose photographs in the desert are more than just landscapes. James writes, "Roughly 300 people die every year in the Sonoran Desert after crossing the Mexico/Arizona border. 'Last View' is a series of photographs depicting the death sites of these migrants." By photographing artifacts, human remains, and a migrant’s last view in this world, James hopes to bring awareness to the lives lost in the desert and to humanize an over-politicized issue.
