Life Sciences Cafe: New Faculty Seminar

Emilia Martins, professor for the School of Life Sciences at ASU, presents "When a Signal Is Lost: Evolutionary Compensation in Lizards and Zebrafish."

Why do animals combine so many sounds, smells, colors and motions when communicating with each other? What happens when one type of signal is lost?

Krijn Paaijmans, an assistant professor for the School of Life Sciences at ASU, will also present a seminar, "Malaria Elimination in Mozambique: From Mosquito Surveillance to Mosquito Control."

The Paaijmans Lab is gathering entomological intelligence to guide mosquito control strategies. It is working on new approaches using old tools and on novel vector control tools to "fight the bite."
