Maternal Mortality in the U.S. — We Can and Must Do Better for Our Women and Mothers

Maternal Mortality in the US- We Can and Must Do Better for Our Women & Mothers

The United States has the highest rate of maternal mortality in the developed world. African-American women in particular are experiencing this statistic at much higher rates than other racial and ethnic groups. What can be done to reverse the course on this tragic reality for so many women and families in the U.S.? How do health care delivery systems contribute to the problem? How can they be part of the solution? What is the role of policy? What are the roles of race, racism and bias?

Join the conversation as a panel of experts addresses these questions and more on the credibility of web-based health information. The event will include audience Q&A and will be recorded as a live podcast. Co-sponsored by ASU’s College of Health Solutions and Center for the Study of Race and Democracy.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m.

This event is part of the "We Need To Talk: Tough Conversations About Health" series hosted by ASU's College of Health Solutions.
