PRISMS Concert 1

The PRISMS Contemporary Music Festival is an annual event offering the highest quality performances of experimental music in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The festivals comprise themed concerts and showcase music that is rarely performed along with pre-concert talks, round tables, and film screenings.

Piano soloist Gabriele Baldocci will join the Arizona Contemporary Music Ensemble for the opening concert of the PRISMS Contemporary Music Festival 2022. The ensemble, directed by Simone Mancuso, will present Olivier Messiaen’s masterpiece Oiseaux Exotiques for piano and small orchestra. The program will also feature two new commissioned works by Sofia Matus Cancino and Myles Kellerman, Komet for electronics by the German composer Karlheinz Stockhausen and Cacklecabin by Dane composer Laura Toxvaerd.
