Prison Education Conference 2018

Arizona State University's 7th Annual Prison Education Conference is hosted by the Prison Education Awareness Club (PEAC) with support from the Department of English and the School of Social Transformation, both units of the ASU College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Learn about the impact of education in the prison system. We'll hear from PEAC officers, former inmates of Rikers Island Jail, Arizona Department of Corrections Education Supervisors, a panel of prison teachers from ASU, Sophie Etchart of Read Better Be Better, Michelle Campuzano of a Title 1 Phoenix School, and Guillermo Arrubla, Phoenix police officer and founder of the hip-hop youth group Beat Street AZ.

The conference is free and open to the public, and includes a complimentary lunch. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.
