About the Film:
"The Road to Brown" chronicles the legal battles led by Charles Hamilton Houston — “the man who killed Jim Crow” — in the years leading up to the landmark Brown v. Board of Education ruling in 1954. The film takes viewers from the “separate but equal” world sanctioned by the infamous Plessy v. Ferguson decision to the triumph of Brown and beyond. It is a piercing and compelling examination of a series of legal battles and people that changed the future of a nation.
