In this talk, Cornell University Press Editorial Director (and sponsoring editor for medieval and renaissance studies) Mahinder Kingra will guide attendees through the often-mysterious process of academic publishing with a university press: Finding the right publisher for your book, talking to editors at conferences, preparing and submitting your proposal, and the process thereafter, from peer review and faculty board approval to submitting your manuscript for publication.

About Mahinder Kingra

Mahinder Kingra has worked in academic publishing for more than 25 years. He is currently the editorial director at Cornell University Press, acquiring in the fields of medieval and renaissance studies, classics, literary studies and cultural studies. Previously, he was Cornell's University Press marketing director and, prior to that, associate editor and publicity manager at Johns Hopkins University Press. He received a Master of Art in history from Duke University and a Bachelor of Art from Columbia University.
