2–2:30 p.m.
Emily Webb: Oh Where, Oh Where Have the Carotenoids Gone?

Carotenoids are pigments and nutrients that can only be acquired from the diet, yet we don't know where they all go after being eaten.

2:30–3 p.m.
Tanessa Call: Molecular mechanisms underlying susceptibility to depression
This presentation will discuss relevant basic molecular research into depression and our laboratories’ contribution to this field.

3–3:30 p.m.
Kevin Klicki: Sunscreen, Bug Repellent and the Widely Conserved ebo Gene Cluster

Bacteria are a rich source of natural products, understanding their regulation and distribution can facilitate their use in medical and industrial applications.

3:30–4 p.m.
Kimberly Olney: Gene expression on the sex chromosomes, X and Y

Gene expression (which genes are on or off) is not uniform among individuals and varies greatly between genetic XY males and XX females.

4–4:30 p.m.
Roslyn Dermody: Nontuberculous mycobacteria, nontraditional treatment
