STEM Equity Exchange

Igniting Innovation, Inclusivity and Equity at Arizona State University

An opportunity to transform society by studying both the underrepresentation of women and girls of color in STEM and culturally responsive techniques for addressing the disparities.

The STEM Equity features the following speakers:

Erika Camacho, an associate professor of the mathematical and natural sciences division, will discuss the professional development component she will be leading at the recently created ASU ADVANCE Institutional Transformation.  She will speak briefly on the rationale for such a program at ASU, the planned initiatives that will lead to institutional transformation, the challenges and opportunities, and what is currently underway.

Steve Elliot, a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Gender Equity in Science and Technology, will conduct a talk about the database of ASU researchers who have identified themselves as interested in issues of inclusion, equity, and justice in the STEM fields.

The STEM Equity Exchange is free and open to everyone, so bring your lunch and join us. We'll provide dessert and refreshments.
