Ever wanted to see ancient Hohokam pottery up close? Visit the “Supply and Demand: Hohokam Pottery Production” exhibit.

Based on the research of Sophia Kelly's PhD (2013) dissertation at the School of Human Evolution and Social Change, the exhibit gives guests a look at the surprising and remarkable exchange patterns of Hohokam society. Before 1100 CE, people relied on a handful of specialist potters for their supply of decorated pottery; discover how Hohokam women living along the Gila River created thousands of beautiful vessels and distributed them to consumers across central and southern Arizona.
