Visiting Artist and Scholar Lecture Series: Jennifer Gonzalez

Please join us for a virtual conversation with Visiting Artist and Scholar in Intermedia Jennifer Gonzalez who will give a lecture, "Fearless Speech: Performative Words" on Wednesday, April 14 at 4:30 p.m. This talk is free and open to the public via the Zoom link above. Jennifer Gonzales is a professor of the History of Art and Visual Culture degree program at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Jennifer Gonzalez writes about contemporary art with an emphasis on installation, digital and activist art. She is interested in understanding the strategic use of space (exhibition space, public space, virtual space) by contemporary artists and by cultural institutions such as museums. More specifically, she has focused on the representation of the human body and its relation to discourses of race and gender.
