Visual Bibliographies: Opening Reception

Books lined up on a bookshelf

Please join the ASU Library and distinguished ASU researchers for a celebration of the first series of Visual Bibliographies, a new collection that takes an alternative look at the research process while highlighting faculty research.

Each Visual Bibliography explores the primary and secondary sources – books, articles, maps, speeches, newspapers, oral histories and historical artifacts — that are used to research and write a single scholarly publication. Sponsored by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the ASU Library, the Visual Bibliographies series is part of the library’s Future of Print initiative.

Faculty featured in the project include ASU Regents’ Professor Donald Fixico, Distinguished Foundation Professor of History in the School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies; Michael E. Smith, director of the Teotihuacan Research Laboratory and professor in the School of Human Evolution and Social Change; Calvin Schermerhorn, professor in the School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies; and Jennet Kirkpatrick, associate professor in the School of Politics and Global Studies.

The four Visual Bibliographies will be on display, and a panel of researchers will discuss their publications and research process. The panel will feature ASU professors Fixico, Smith and Kirkpatrick. Hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Please RSVP.
