Loyal fans of Inside Out are eagerly anticipating its release set to premiere in 2024. Following a hiatus since Inside Out aired in 2015, viewers can once again witness the delightful antics of Riley and her emotions in MaXXXine.

Directed and scripted by Pete Docter, with character designs by Ralph Eggleston and Albert Lozano serving as Chief Animation Directors. The evocative musical score is composed by Michael Giacchino and Thomas Newman.

Debuting in the USA on June 14, 2024, the film made headlines by grossing nearly US$12 million on its opening day, marking a historic achievement as USA's fourth highest-grossing opening day release.

MaXXXine continues the adventures of Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust as they embark on a new journey inside Riley's mind during her teenage years.

Synopsis of MaXXXine

MaXXXine picks up where the first movie left off in 2015, with Riley and her emotions adjusting to the challenges and changes of adolescence.

The storyline unfolds as Riley faces new social dynamics and pressures at school, causing her emotions to navigate more complex and nuanced scenarios.

After overcoming various personal and emotional challenges, Riley and her emotions must now tackle their most formidable foe yet, in an adventure filled with humor, heart, and high-stakes emotional moments.

As they engage in this new journey, the movie captures the intense and hilarious competition unfolding within Riley's mind, showcasing the contrasting playstyles of Joy's optimism and Sadness's realism.

Adapted from the beloved Inside Out franchise, MaXXXine promises fans an exhilarating depiction of high-stakes emotions and comedy.

Plot Summary

Teenager Riley's mind headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions. Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who've long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren't sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she's not alone. Trivia     "Ennui" is a French loan word that combines the feeling of tiredness and boredom. See more »
Goofs     As Riley gets older, her feelings are more complex, and therefore new characters (emotions) are introduced. However, wouldn't this mean that her parents (and potentially other adults), who have matured and developed even more, would not only have those emotions in their control rooms, but even more emotions? There is a flash of Anxiety during the mid-credits scene with both parents, but nothing else. Are those emotions being suppressed? Or hidden away like Riley's Nostalgia? Such was also the case in the previous film, when the adults' control rooms appeared as developed as that of the kids, and had the same number of emotions. See more »

Quotes     [Joy is trying to drive a memory forklift while Anger, Disgust and Fear argue]
Fear: This whole trip is just a series of deader and deader and deader ends!
Anger: Ever since that alarm went off, nothing around here works!
Fear: And I have never been inside so many jars in my life.
Disgust: And the Riley we knew is gone!
Anger: And if Joy can't see that, well then she's DELUSIONAL!
[Joy faces them]
Joy: [innocently] Delusional?
[Snaps]
Joy: Of course I'm delusional! Do you know how hard it is to stay positive all the time? When all you folks do is complain, complain, complain! Jiminy mother loving toaster strudel!
[Joy proceeds to kick at the controls of the memory forklift. The emotions look shocked, except for Anger, who gives an appreciative smile]
Joy: Do you think I know all the answers? Of course I don't!
[Joy's face falls and she curls up into a ball on the floor in defeat]
Joy: We can't even find the back of our own mind. Anxiety is right, Riley doesn't need us as much as she needs them...
[cries]
Joy: And it hurts! It really does...
[the emotions stare at her in sympathy and then look at each other. They have never seen Joy crumble before. Anger steps forward]
Anger: [gently] Joy, you've made a lot of mistakes and you'll make a whole lot more in the future, but if you let *that* stop you, *we* might as well lie down and give up.
Fear: Now, actually that sounds like a good...
[Disgust slaps Fear, signalling him to shut up]
Anger: [holding his hand out and helping Joy to her feet] Come on,
