West Valley Symphony: 'Magnificent American Music'

West Valley Symphony

Arizona State University's West campus is proud to once again host the West Valley Symphony in their final performance of the season.

A raucous interchange of musical ideas depicts gossip and deception in Barber’s flamboyant overture to "The School for Scandal." Anna Marie Wytko will gear up to follow John Williams' lead to “Catch Me if you Can,” a saxophone concerto based on themes from the 2002 Steven Spielberg movie. Her father, an equally respected saxophone soloist, Joseph Wytko, will join her for a tango by Piazzola. Our season concludes with the powerful symphony Dvorak composed while living in America, the ever popular Symphony No. 9, "From the New World."
