Where There Once Was

Where There Once Was Harry Wood Gallery

"Where There Once Was" is that moment of clarity; it is a place of comfort and hope for Joshua Gutierrez, Ty Dahlstrom and Elizabeth Pineda. While their stories vary greatly, the emotion captured in each photographer’s body of work is evident. A common theme of family trauma, vulnerability and reconciliation can be found in each unique piece. Dahlstrom and Pineda choose to showcase their images behind glass and metal frame, while Gutierrez opts for a more avant-garde approach with the overlapped photographs in his book. "Where There Once Was" can be considered a collective family album; sharing the snapshots of three different families, it will transport the viewer through intimate moments, perhaps unlocking similar memories of decay and rebirth.

Artists in the show are Joshua Gutierrez, Ty Dahlstrom and Elizabeth Pineda.
