YSEALI Closing Ceremony

Large group of young adults from all over Southeast Asia wearing clothing representative of their cultures, standing on steps of Old Main in Tempe

Meet and celebrate the ASU cohort of the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Civic Engagement Institute from 3:305 p.m. on Friday, May 27, at the Arizona Center Tower, 7th Floor.

YSEALI is a U.S. Department of State program that Watts College has hosted annually since 2016. This year, we are hosting 18 YSEALI Fellows from nine Southeast Asian countries (Brunei, Burma, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam). The Fellows are between 22 to 32 years of age and are the most resilient cohort we have had thus far. They were originally scheduled to arrive at ASU March 2020, and the pandemic postponed their Fellowship experience. First, they pivoted to an online Fellowship experience from MarchApril 2021, and now they finally are able to participate in an in-person Fellowship Capstone at ASU from May 1631, 2022.

This event gives the fellows an opportunity to share a little bit about themselves with our community. You can register for the YSEALI Closing Ceremony at https://na.eventscloud.com/2022-yseali-meet-greet-and-closing-ceremony.

If you will need parking for the event, we can validate parking at Heritage Square Garage, 501 East Monroe Street, Phoenix.  Please bring your parking ticket to the event.  From the Heritage Square Garage, you would need to walk to the Arizona Center Tower at 400 East Van Buren Street; refer to the map below.  You do not need to sign in with security.  Classroom 730 is on the 7th floor.
