The ASU School of Music choral program hosts an evening of music and conversation with world-renowned composer Eric Whitacre.
The evening opens with Whitacre’s “She Weeps Over Rahoon,“ performed by the ASU Women’s Chorus under the direction of conductor Ashley Conway. Following the performance, Whitacre discusses the piece, and David Schildkret, School of Music professor and director of choral activities, will moderate a question and answer session.
Advance tickets are available for pick up in person at the Herberger Institute Box Office; limit two per person.
Eric Whitacre’s first recording as both composer and conductor won a Grammy® award in 2012. Within a week of its release, it was the number one classical recording throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. Since his first award, Whitacre has become the most popular composer writing choral music today. For more information about the artist, visit EricWhitacre.com
