Bruce Hoffman
Please join us for a conversation with Bruce Hoffman, a renowned expert on terrorism and counterterrorism. Hoffman served as a commissioner on the Independent Commission to Review the FBI’s Post-9/11 Response to Terrorism and Radicalization, also known as the 9/11 Review Commission, and was a lead author of the commission’s final report.
He will discuss lessons learned from 9/11, policy responses that followed, and how the United States and other countries have shaped deterrence strategies against international terrorism and other threats to national security over the past quarter century. The conversation will also explore how deterrence policies have evolved in theory and practice, particularly in recent years, as well as their purpose, effectiveness and costs.
The event will be moderated by Ambassador David Scheffer, ASU Professor of Practice.
